Bansko

Is in a valley between three mountains: Rila, Pirin and Rodopes. It appeared about 9th - 10th c.c. on the place of an old Thracian town. During the Bulgarian Revival in Bansko were built many houses with original architecture. Very interesting are the St. Trinity and St. Virgin Churches. Bansko is an excellent mountain resort with good ski runs and other facilities for skiing.
